Capri Sun Moon Punch: Turning Its Gaze from the Sun to the Moon
Capri Sun has released a limited-edition “Moon Punch” to celebrate the total lunar eclipse. This cherry-flavored drink comes in glow-in-the-dark pouches, featuring eight different designs that represent various moon phases. The luminous packaging of Moon Punch enhances the experience of exploring the night sky. Capri Sun aims to inspire children to enjoy outdoor adventures with this special edition.
Capri Sun collaborated with Snapchat to offer a promotional event where consumers could receive a free product. By capturing an image of the moon through the Snapchat camera and following a special link, participants had a chance to win a box of Moon Punch and a flashlight.
According to NASA, the total lunar eclipse will take place from the night of March 13 to the early hours of March 14. The partial eclipse is set to begin at 1:09 AM ET, while the total eclipse will occur from 2:26 AM to 3:31 AM. The entire eclipse event will last from 11:57 PM to 6:00 AM ET. This phenomenon, visible across the United States without special equipment, is also known as a “Blood Moon,” as it paints the sky in a striking red hue.
Jessica Barker, Senior Brand Manager of Brand Communications at Capri Sun, stated, “We strive to create moments of fun and discovery for everyone, from those who grew up drinking Capri Sun to today’s kids. This time, we are shifting our gaze from the sun to the moon to introduce our first-ever ‘Moon Punch.’”
